The latest piece of work to be finished is the Northern Hawk owl. A slight departure from my usual stlye, this work has been done in mixed media. Drawing dirrectly on to untreated canvas, I worked the piece up by adding charcoal and oil paint.

The Northern Hawk Owl is a bird I got to know quite well whilst working on a placement at the National Bird of Prey Centre in Newent. It seemed to look down on anyone walking past with a look that made you think that it could see in to your soul and didn't exactly like what it saw!
